Open Letter to Keir Starmer

Dear Keir

My late parents raised me to show respect to people in authority.

Whether someone was a politician or a policeman (yes, I'm of that generation that refers to people as policemen or women), they demanded my respect by dint of the very fact that they were to be respected - irrespective of whether or not I agreed with their personal point of view.

It would have never entered my mind to criticise them in public, especially on a platform like this.

And then you came along.

And you, who pretended to care about me did something that I will never, ever forgive you for.

When my people were suffering in a way that I have never known in my lifetime, you sided with our enemies, the ones who savagely murdered, raped, eviscerated and kidnapped my brothers and sisters.

You showed your true colours when you declared your support for a 'Palestinian State'.

How could you?

At that moment, you did something to me that changed my view of you and concretized in my mind what you really are, who you really are and where your priorities lie.

I don't hate you and don't wish you harm because if I did, that would diminish the person I am and you're not worth it.

I do however despise everything that you stand for.

Your arrogance, your cunning, your deceitfulness and your inability to stand up for what is right and choose whose side to join, protect and promote.

You have shamed the Office of Prime Minister. You have disgraced the position that you hold as leader of the Labour Party.

Using your 'card' as being the husband of a Jewish (is she?) wife and Jewish children (are they?) and taking your wife to Poland to find out about their Jewish heritage mere weeks before Israel and America fought the world's most dangerous enemy - and then cowardly refusing to participate in protecting Israel is the ultimate proof that you really, really don't give a damn about us and that you are simply a hypocrite of the worst kind.

Please, stop pretending that you care. It's frankly insulting and extremely offensive.

You, Sir are a cad.

And that's putting it mildly.

So now that you are fighting for your political life (don't worry, your legacy is already shredded), I really, really don't give a damn about what happens to you professionally.

The old saying about 'better the Devil you know' doesn't apply because you, Keir, are the epitome of a failure.

As a leader, a gentleman and a spokesperson for decency, you are nothing but a fraud.

With feelings of the deepest anger, disgust and betrayal.

Rabbi Kalman Baruch ben Yitzchak Asher (zl) Vecht-Wolf
